Ours is the same. I always hate asking because they are always busy, with only a few girls to help!

The last time I hit Joanns for the batting sale I too figured it out by the yard and the prepackaged worked out to be a little under $5 per yard for queen size which is usually 90" x 108". 108/36 = 3 yards. The sale price about 3 months ago was I think $13.99 so it worked out to be only $4.66 per yard.

Using currently published on line prices which may not be right... A full 40 yard roll of 90" W&N is currently priced at $315.60 that works out to be $7.89 per yard. Prepack queen size warm and white batt is priced at $15.59 which works out to be $5.19 per yard. I noticed that on line warm and white costs a tad more then the regular beige colored W&N

The best I've seen the batting on the bolt is $5.99 on sale or similar with a coupon. The prepackaged is a better deal. I try to stock up when they have it on sale. It's also easier for me to store in my tiny home - I could never fit a roll of it here. I've never seen prices this low anywhere else. I have seen some battings online I'd like to try, but think the shipping costs would be too much for me to bother with.
posted somewhere earlier [can't remember when]the best way i've found to store any kind of batting is in space bags ! saves SO much room, esp.if you buy off the roll !!!

I don't have a Joanne's nearby, but at the Hobby Lobby where I have bought the prepackaged batting, it seems like the prepackaged is a better deal than the by-the-yard, as well.

Yeah, but why buy off of the roll if prepackaged is cheaper
 To me this is counter-intuitive! You'd just think they'd price it that buying the roll or yardage is cheaper. You'd think the cost of packaging it would increase the price. But, no....

If you order the roll of warm and natural when they have the 50% coupon it works out to 3.94 a yard. Of course shipping adds some to it but it's still cheaper than buying by the yard or prepackaged. My problem is where to store it.

I too was surprised when I was checking out the joanns site yesterday. I ended up ordering the package batting, after the shipping I still got a good deal as shipping on the whole order was $5.00 I can't drive there for that.

I went yesterday to get the pre-packaged batting. Yes, I know there's an additional 10% off today through the weekend, but I figured the batting would be all gone and I'm super busy this weekend.

So, I grabbed 2 packages and there were only two left. I'm glad I went. I still didn't see any Warm and Natural on the roll. Guess they're out until a new shipment comes in.
