I'm just finishing a charity quilt and I need to wash it as I have cats, so everything has cat hair
. I don't know what kind of batting is in the quilt because it was donated from my guild. I did try ironing a sample and it melted flat as a pancake
, so I'm guessing it's polyester. Can I just wash and dry as normal in my machines or will the heat from the dryer melt the batting? I think from what I've read here that it is OK to dry in the dryer, just don't iron it. Since I don't know anything about the batting, does anyone know of a batting that absolutely cannot go in the dryer???
