    Yes I love the softness of a flannel blanket, especially for babies, my daughter loves them, and I wash them a lot and they hold up really nicely!

    I piece my batting all the time and do not bother with the cost of the tape. Just butt the straight batting edges together and do a wide zig-zag. My only advice is to make sure the edges are straight when you do it.
