Batting
#21
I have to drive over 50 miles to find a Jo-Ann store so I buy my batting from my LQS and I am always happy with it. I usually buy a batting that allows 5-8 inches apart on my quilting. I like the idea of spraying the batting and then putting it in the dryer on low to remove wrinkles. I will have to try that next time.

I was raised to pinch pennies, so always go for a discount on name-brand packaged batting. Have purchased from JoAnn's and Connecting Threads.
Steam iron with "burst of steam" feature works pretty well on wrinkles, but cheap poly batting (often off a roll) sometimes has folded-in creases that are in there to stay.

Our favorite is Quilters Dream battings. Due to an increase in cotton prices their Dream Orient is less expensive. It has silk, bamboo, eucalyptus, and cotton. It also drapes beautifully and is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. We have it available to our clients by the linear inch. Check with longarmers in your local area to see if they use it. Also available by the bat at quilt stores. I would not use anything else. Their wool is also great. Cotton Select is the thickness I like. They also have a new 80/20 but I have not tried it yet.
