    Default Beading on Quilts

A generous friend gave me a mountain of beads. I'd love to see quilts you have made with beading.I have one book,
and a wild imagination. Forget that long winter's nap!!

A few years ago I went to the Quilt Museum in Paducah and they had a quilt on display, not hung on the wall like all of the others, but hung from the ceiling, where we could walk all around the quilt and see the front and the back. They had it roped off so that nobody could touch the quilt. A fabulous quilt from the front - but OMG on the back, about 120,000 Svorski (sp) crystals sewn into the hand quilting stitches from the back. They said that it won the quilt show the year before. I am sure that you could "Google" it to find it - I am unable to find anything myself - old lady here.

I don't know how to post pics, but right now I am working on a Snowflake quilt, pattern from Crabapple Hill designs. The snowflakes are hand embroidered and I am adding beads to them. I think it's going to be beautiful when I get it done. It's for my daughter and I am doing it in frosty looking aqua's and lavenders and white.

I used to bead and embellish quilts. Come to think of it, from another post today in the Chit-Chat section, I have collected beads in the past. No more; I don't know what to do with them as I'm only into bed/useful quilts these days.
But I'm sort of interested to see a resurgence in embellishment today. Please show yours!

I believe Janet Orsini posted her Butterfly quilt with a million beads on it.

I can finally correct my spelling as the wifi conked out. That should have read Janet Orfini's Butterfly quilt.
