Need help with the size of the top of the block, that the bear is in, the bottom "quilt" for the bear is a 6 1/2 inch block, and I believe there is an Attic Window framing the block, so what size was the bear half and what size the Attic Window? and size of the finished block?. and is there a real pattern for this or have I just seen pictures of the quilt on here? Thanks hope this isn't too confusing.

I would make it whatever looks right! make your block, lay it on top of a piece of "background" fabric and draw a bear under the quilt block, then trim it back and see how big it actually is. Then add the "bed" around the block and then set it into the window!

What does this quilt look like? Is it called the Teddy Bear Party by Theresa Eisinger ? If so, PM me as I have the information for a crib 40 1/4 by 40 3/4.

Here is a link to buy a copy of the pattern book I used to make one for my grandson 8 years ago. There are actually 2 different patterns for teddy bears in bed, and both are adorable. Sorry, I don't want to sell my copy.

In my patterns the bear is actually about the upper 1/3 of the block, and the rest is quilt. PM me if I can be any help.

I just assumed you were doing it by hand HOWEVER if you have an embroidery machine granny_59 said here http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-58584-1.htm#1418187 that she got the bear applique at allstitching.com Here is a link to the bears, http://www.allstitching.com/pTEDDY%2...-Applique.aspx

How perfect, I do have a bear that might work in my "stash" but not applique, just embroidered and only 2200 stitchs so mostly outline, never ordered from South Africa, wonder how that works, looks like it would be $20, and plus shipping I imagine. thanks for all the help
I had some extra blocks from the Farmer's Wife Sampler quilt that a group on this board is making, so thought that would be a cool way to use them up.

I got on the allstitching site, and the bears she used are there, for about $17.00 american currency if I did it right, a little leary of the disclaimer about virus etc. have you ever used their patterns? the price is right, so just questioning the safety of the site. sure be easier to embroider them by machine than drawing my own pattern and doing the hand work, not the easiest to use Minkee on small pieces
