Bedspread Advice
Need some of your great advice. I want to make a quilt/spread for our queen size bed. I am a scrappy quilter and love the Thimbleberries collections of fabric. All I want to do is make 12 inch blocks for the spread. I have seen these on bedspread sites and really like the Country look so do you think that would look OK? Most of my stash is made up of the Thimbleberries in the greens, browns, tans. It will be a big spread as I want to totally cover the box spring and mattress with no bed skirt. What do you think?

Sounds great. It works for a queen size, I made a king size and with the batting I used it's way too heavy. Can't be washed in a normal washer. So when you get it to the size you like, choose the batting carefully. Go lightweight.

Keep in mind that when going floor to floor all round,
the corners will stick out beyond.
One way to deal with that is to crop the corners on an angle.
Easy enough to cut them off later, with what you are suggesting right now.
But too, important to plan for it, as you finalize your design plans,
as it may affect your plans, and may not be something you can alter later.
Good Luck!

I think it will look great. I've made several. I measure how big I want it to be and then figure how many blocks I need and then figure the width of the borders. They look nice finished. Your colors sound pretty.
