I never used this but found some on sale. Can't believe how much easier it is to thread a needle for hand quilting. The thread has more body and doesn't seperate when threading your needle. How diid I do without it all this time. No one ever told me I needed it but I would't be without it again.

here is a hint from watching Amish handquilt......they will occasionally run the needle thru their hair and when I asked why I was told the natural oil from your hair will make that needle slide thru the fabric.....I do it and it works!!!!! I know a bit of lamb's wool will do the same(I guess that is the lanolin in the wool)

The beeswax for sewing comes in a small round plastic case.
(someone has posted a picture) It has 3 slits on the bottom and 3 on top. You just cut your thread and pull it through a slit. I do mine 2 times. It's very easy. I had never used it before.

I've taken the disk of wax out of the case for my use. Just hold the thread under your thumb or finger on the disk and pull the length of thread across the surface of the wax.
