    Your going to laugh, but I thought bees wax was used on the needles to make them slide through the fabric easier. I never noticed a different so let it sit in my sewing box. No one I knew used bees wax so I'd never known what it was realy for. I'll try it on thread. E

    Isn't that the strangest thing. My quilting teacher never mentioned beeswax and I handquilted with ladies at a church on a big frame and not one ever used it or mentioned it.
    I just happened to see it at Tuesday Morning and decided to try it. I broke so many needle threaders trying to thread that tiny needle and now I can do it on the first try.

    I learned to use bees wax in jr hi Home Ec years ago. It makes life a lot easier when hand-sewing!

    I have used both. Can't find my TH and my mothers block is quite old and hardened now. I think I will try to melt it down and repour into a nice cookie mold shape.

    I have a chunk that I've used for 40+ years, AND it's also good on sticky zippers, helps the tips of needles slide in better and of course, all above uses for thread and hand sewing.

    I too, use the Bees Wax especially when I am doing applique work and I love it.
