There are so many of us in the same position right now, and we all know how you feel. Is there anything i can do to help from California?

GrammaNan, I don't know who you are, I'm not on the board very often, I'm not even one of those you made promises to but I just want to let you know that I'm very sorry for all those mishaps that came upon you this past year and I can relate to this: our last year has been a crappy one too. I know how it feels like when everything seem to be tumbling around your ears, you seem to fall into a big hole and can't find the way out and you're just frightened to see what tomorrow brings... But I can tell you after every storm there is sunshine and when the night is at it's darkest, it's just before dawn. I hold on to this myself and I hang on to God's promises in my life and I realise that although patience can be very bitter, the fruit can be very sweet too. I wish you all the very best for 2011 and may it be for you a year full of sunshine and peace at heart!!!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your illnesses and the drying up of unemployment funds. What have we come to, that we can't even provide jobs for our own people? I hope this year is kinder to you in every way. Maybe we need a prayer "circle"....

My hours were cut to about nothing too.
Just 4 1/2 a week I just signed up for unemployment too I don't like too but I have to live and eat.

I wouldn't feel bad because you couldn't meet the promises.
I have learned Life goes on in many different ways.
If someone gets mad at you they aren't your friend.
I found out the hard way in life.

I need a sewing machine because mine broke and I can't afford one now I just can cut and put away things to sew later.
I don't even buy anything for sewing either.
I love to read all the things people are buying maybe someday again if not oh well I guess I'm not suppose to have it.
head for thrift stores ! people got new machines for Christmas & are giving up their old machines. oil & clean & generally you can get a good deal. maybe even take fabric to the store & try it out or get a return promise. the older the Singer, the better it is--I mean pre1960. all you need is a straight stitch for now. wish you lived near me, I would fix you up ! just practically gifted (had to charge her some for her ego) two sewing machines to a lady who could not get hers fixed or a new one right now. what a great feeling. So good you are feeding yourself now with chatting with all of us. some days none of us get any sewing done because we want to read all the stories and help where we can. Pm me if you need advice on an older machine.
