it also lists the difficulty..1 "pin" easy or beginner. and you can look by name of the block or by the size! great site!

You are right - it also mentions, paper piecing and shows if it needs templates or not. I don't do either yet (probably because I am too impatient, but it is there if you need it.) Edie

Why do you think Bq ia not easy.
Its only 1 121/2 sq of fabric and some strips.

Maybe that looks easy to you but I am new to piecing and that looks really difficult to me. Mind you everything looks difficult at the beginning even though I have worked with fabric and sewing for eons.

I am going to start with a disappering nine patch having watched the video on you tube, it looks as if it may be forgiving of mistakes.

The library or internet are great places to find ideas. Quilter's Cache has lots of patterns in all skill levels. Good luck!

If you want to do blocks, take a look at www.thequilter'scache. There will be something there, I'm sure and they have a rating from easy to impossible.

My very first bed-sized quilt was a Rail Fence, and though I made a few 'boo-boos', it is still being used & loved, 15 years later!

I have a book called "Sew One and Your Done" quilts from one block...one block made large. It is great for beginners because the pieces are large! I made the triple bear paw for my first and aside from making sure the "toes" were going the right way it was easy!!!
