I hand quilt now, I'm still learning the whole machine quilt thing. I've played with the BSR but only on small projects. There is so much to learn, I finally got the hang of the embroidery module. It took me a while because I needed to get my own laptop. I have a desk top & was using my hubby's laptop & it kept crashing because it didn't have the right stuff. Luckily the store where we bought it allows you to go to as many classes as you need. Make sure your store is as helpful if you're not a techie. I needed help but my friend got hers out one night when she couldn't sleep & had it humming. Take a little quilt sandwich with you when you shop. They should let you play with it to your hearts content. My store provides a sandwich but you might feelmore comfortable using your own.

Good suggestions, thank you! I was looking at someone doing the free motion quilting, so I went to her website to look at all her samples. Well, she went through her whole breakdown of the machines that she has tried in the last 5 years and what she liked and didn't like about the machines. She recently purchased the Janome 7700 and she loves it, so I'm going to test drive one of those Monday after I get the kiddos off to school. I'll let you know what happens!
