    Default Bernina Activa 145

I have a chance to buy this machine for $300, firm. I will have to drive 120 miles to try it out. Does anyone have any comments on this machine? What are the chances I will like it if I make the drive. I have many machines, so I don't mind that it is only 3/4 size.

I've used a Bernina Activa for 10 years. It is still my back-up machine and sewing well. I replaced the foot pedal once and a little spring broke from somewhere? I have recently upgraded to Bernina 440 QE and I love it. The Bernina 440 and Bernina 430 are being phased out. You can buy a 430 Bernina brand new for about $2000.00. You would really have to try the machine out and see how she works. Are all the feet and accesories included? My Bernina feet are about $40-50 and I can use them on my 440. If it is in good condition and you have a Bernina dealer to service it in case of problems, I would get it for a back-up machine.
