I wonder...have you lowered the presser foot? It DOES have to be engaged the same as if you were simply sewing. Some think the foot must stay up for embroidering.

I don't have a Bernina, but I have some quilting friends who do. They were offered classes at the quilt store to get acquainted with the machine. I wonder if you can seek that kind of help if you purchased it at a local quilt shop.

I had so much trouble with the computer part, that I traded it in for a 730. I used to have to reload the program every time I used it. I don't know why,but I just never got the hang of the darn thing. I love the easy use of the 730 with my embroidery unit.

The above post does make me happy that I have a Viking; that's too many things to worry about; presser foot down, up and all of that. I load my design and check that it is where I want it and then press start. I don't worry about the presser foot or any of these other things. Is it because it's an older Bernina or what?

Yes, I did do that. I also unplugged everything and restarted with no success.

have you checked with the dealer where you purchased? Most Bernina dealerships offer classes on both the sewing and embroidery part
