I have been looking for a long time and I finally found a Bernina 930 on Craigslist - I pick it up Saturday. I'm tickled pink! For those of you who use Craigslist, there is a website that will do the searching for you: http://www.searchtempest.com/

You can tell Searchtempest what you're looking for and how far from where you live you want it to search. Then you can have the results sent to your SSR reader. (I use Google Reader which also keeps track of blog posts I'm interested in and tells me whenever there's a new blog post.)

I told Searchtempest to tell me every time there was a Craigslist posting with the keyword "Bernina" within 250 miles of my home. Searchtempest will also include eBay listings with your keyword. It's a real time saver!

Glad you found a deal on Craig's List.
Beware of some of Craig's List EX..We have a large mobile park, several weeks ago a couple came into our park and started to remove an A/C unit. My husband went to check on this. The couple told him they had purchased the moible home from Carig's List. Well the person they sent their money to DID NOT own the home. There was not way we could help this couple, they had signed a sale agreement that said
no refunds for any reason. We told the could to go to the police.
My husband then checked Craig's List the same person that took their money had another home hee for sale. He did own that home either.
The owners of both mobile homes did not even know the person that was trying to sell their homes.
Just becarfeul with buying on line items.

I'm always a kazillion steps behind technology...this sounds like such a great tool.
Painters broke our fan/light doing the ceilings...BUT....they found one the same vintage....22 years old on craigslist...good for them & us!
I've written down searchtempest & hopefully I'll remember to check it out, thank you & enjoy your new "baby" !

Congratulations. I have had my 930 for 27 years. I absolutely love it. It still looks brand new and sews as like a brand new machine. This is not a machine I would ever sell. You are going to love it.

The only gripe I have with CL is the spam if you are selling an item. I can not tell you how many times I have had emails from spammers telling me that they love dancing and have DD's.......I am thinking what the heck does that have to do with a sewing machine???

Agree about spammers. It's annoying. That said, I've sold a lot of stuff on CL so I guess it's worth the aggravation.
