I own four Berninas. I have a Artista 185 without the embroidery add on, a Deco 650, which was their first embroidery machine and stand alone, a 250 low end portable sewing machine and a serger. I use all of them and love them all. I also own a Singer Featherweight that I purchased at a yard sale for $20. It is in mint condition. I purchased it because my mother had one that she purchased in 1935 and brought to Maryland with her when she left Illinois after marrying my father in the mid 1940s. I learned to sew on it. I rarely use the Featherweight as it only does straight stitch. It does come in handy should I take a workshop since it is so light weight. I sew on at least one of those machines at least daily. If I have to purchase a new machine it will be a Bernina.

I have the 440QE which I love, but am seriously considering upgrading to the 710. Do you have any advice or thoughts on this? Can you use the 440 feet on the 710? Thanks in advance!

I am not sure about the 710 but I think it is similar to my 750QE. Some of the feet from my 440 are interchangeable with my 750 but some are not. There is an app for my Samsung phone from Bernina, it will keep track of all the feet you have, the ones you would like to have and which feet fit which machines. Check out the app- it is really good for me. It is probably available for other phones as well.

For the cost of the Bernina be very sure the dealer has been in business for a long time and doesn't sell any other machine but Bernina. That's very important.
