I don't believe that will fit in the groove.

For lines that don't need to be washed off, I recently stole... I mean borrowed "Sharpie CD/DVD Marker" from my DH. The ones he has have two tips, fine and ultra fine. The ultra fine tip is what it says, you don't need to press hard, and the best part is that it doesn't bleed. It's been a big help to me, although it can't be used for very dark colors. I would get one of these even if I had to pay for it myself!

I personally like the brown pigma pen.

I really like my chalk pump up pencil/pen from Fons and Porter that I got at my LQS. It has white leads and blue. They do a nice fine line. Supposed to rub out with the eraser on the end but I found I had to wash out the lines.

can you draw on the sides of the ruler. that would be your sewing lines, the center one is where you would cut anyway.

nativetexan, under normal circumstnces you would be correct. I wouldn't need the center line, but this is a pattern off a blog and the squares for the HSTs are cut too small (by the pattern's directions). I don't have fabric to recut them, so I have to mark the center line and sew as close as I dare. Luckily my 1948 Necchi sews a very strong seam. I found Bic pen that's fitting the slots, so for this quilt I'm okay.

    Thank you, everyone.
