I am going to be hand embroidering some blocks and was wondering what is the best muslin to use? I have some cream muslin but I think I want to use white. I do have some premium white muslin in my stash which I was wondering if that would work. Any suggestions or advice would be so appreciated.

Your premium white (bleached) muslin should work just fine. I use it all the time for embroidery projects. Be sure you cut your piece at least 1/3 more than you need in your frame. This will help with any stretching and shrinkage when washing.

Even if the bolt end says "preshrunk" - I would wash it in hot water and dry it before using it.

I often use muslin for quilting and at one time embroidery work. I buy the best quality that JoAnn's has and it hasn't failed me yet. When there is a sale going on I will buy a whole bolt.

I buy the Premium Legacy muslin both bleached and unbleached at Joann's. I use it for backing as you can get it in several widths. I will buy a whole bolt when I have a good coupon for it. A lot of my friends have seen it on my quilts and ask where I got it.

The premium legacy muslin from JoAnn's is lovely - but it does shrink!

Moda 108" wide is so nice I can't tell it's muslin in my stash. I have it in cream and white. Doesn't seem to shrink much, but I'd still prewash it.

I bought a wonderful white muslin from Homestead Hearth. It was on sale and I didn't note the brand.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I will head to JoAnn's tomorrow with a coupon and see about getting some of that Premium Legacy.
