I have to make a Hawaiian quilt for a wedding gift and I am fusing it. I have never really used fusible "stuff". I have a roll of really heavy stuff but it gumms up the needle and makes the quilt stiff. I know that is not what I want. so.....

    1. What do I want and...
    2. Where is the best place to get lots of it?

I like Steam a Seam 2 the best as it doesn't gum up, but will watching this thread to see if someone has a fusible which works better. I get it at LQS:-)

Pellon's wonder under is good, Hancocks has it 40% alot (that was last week so probably not on sale this week), but JoAnns is having their coupon extravaganza (or whatever they call it) this week. I think there are 50% off coupons available. I buy it by the bolt that way.

I used to use Steam-a Seam 2 Lite, but it was just too gummy for me. I now use Pellon Wonder Under 805 and I love it. Easy to hand or machine stitch through and does not make the fabric all stiff and nasty. I get it by the bolt at JoAnn's online with a 50% coupon...works out to 1.07 a yard that way. Trans Web is also recommended, but I have never used it.

These are the best tips on fusing you will ever find...by Laura Wasilowski, the Dean of Corrections of the Chicago School of Fusing. ;) http://www.artfabrik.com/Chicago%20S...0Etiquette.htm

FYI, Wonder Under is 17" wide and a bolt is 35 yards (there are mini bolts of 10 yards as well)

JoAnns isreally cheap if youuse a coupon. OurHobby Lobby has a few, too, and they always have 40 percent off coupons!
