I bought most of my embroidery machine thread at Thread Art:
    http://www.threadart.com/Default.aspx?

I love their thread and even though I don't use the embroidery machine very much, I do use it for quilting and thread painting.

I use Isacord and it can be purchased from threadetc.com in Dallas and picked up so no shipping cost.

I use Madeira thread and the cheapset website that I have found is http://www.allstitch.net/index.cfm. Their 1100 yd spool is $3.05 and the customer service is great.

I like marathon and metro...the prices are excellent/cheaper and the quality is also excellent. I ordered all of metros line but find I don't use variegated very much.
