What do you mean by ( red work fabrics)? I've always used bleached muslin for red work embroidery. On occasion a Kona white. But I'm not sure if that is what you are asking?

Connecting threads has some over there on line. Really it depends on which style redwork you are doing. I also like the storybook toile with redwork blocks. If you google redwork quilts some images will come up. It also depends on your thread color. I like the cherry pink sometimes and also the dark turkey red of olden days.

My sister gave me a quilt to finish. I need a border and backing fabric. I'll look at connecting threads. It's a light kind of red, not dark.

There is tons of the cherry red left in the clearance. All types of patterns to co ordinate together.

You might look for "red fabrics" on this site. Here you can compare prices as well as find multiple shops that carry what may interest you.

RK has numerous shades of red cotton fabrics. I would go to a store with your embroidery if you want an exact match.
