Best priced embroidery thread for Bernina???
#21
I have a Bernina and ONLY use polyester thread. As others have said, poly is more colorfast and will last longer. I use embroidery on all of my quilt labels, many of them baby quilts that will get lots of washing.
I usually use the Mettler Polysheen, which is the same as Isacord on smaller spools and I have filled one of the Sulky slimline cases, buying them at Hancock when they were 1/2 price. I also have some larger Isacord spools. I do have some Madeira Polyneon which has also worked fine, and I got on sale at Fabric Depot in Portland. I have also tried Gunold poly thread when I had a discount code from WAWAK (www.wawak.com), formerly Atlanta Thread Supply. Gunold is more marketed to professionals but I had good luck with it too, and is is a lot less ($1.99 for 1,100 yard spool). I recommend that you try a few different kinds as some machines (even among Berninas) are more picky than others.

Also, Gunold will send you their color chart if you request it here: http://www.gunold.com/contact/catalog/ (and they included the brand compatability chart and a free spool when I requested mine.)
