Smile Best way and best supplies to include a picture in your quilt

I am in the beginning stages of pulling things together to make my oldest DD a quilt (and she doesn't know it). I am planning to include things that she enjoys - like Wizard of Oz, the beach, patriotic colors, music, northwestern (Indian stuff and pottery, etc).. My question is what works best and "permanently" for putting pictures in a quilt. I have maybe three that I would love to include. I have been asking all around about the best fabric to copy a photo onto and run through the printer - everybody tells me something different. I've never done the picture thing. I thought about all the great quilters on here and figured that there would be some great input on this topic. I just don't want pictures in the quilt that will fade out over time. Thanks for your suggestions - I am really stressing over this one - I want her quilt to be great and something she can cherish forever.....Thanks, hunters grammy

There is a special prepared for printing fabric just for this...I think it's called "Printed Treasures" or something to that effect. You can find it at a Hancock's, or possibly at a Hobby Lobby or a Michael's or Jo-Ann's fabric. You just scan your prints, then print them out on the fabric. They are permanent so you shouldn't have any problems with them fading. Good luck!

Just make sure you have the capatible computer printer and follow the directions. Good Luck.
