I like the Moda and the Kaufman Kona solids. Black is crazy hard to hide, but you will have a second layer of white between the top and the black seam allowance, so that will help.

I'd probably drive myself insane with such a combination - trying to always press toward the black!

I like Kaufmans Kona for white.. there are a few in the "white" catagory in various brightness. If you have a Hancocks of Paducka catalog , you will see the different whites.
