big deal today

So, I was reading the posts this morning and saw where someone found a longarm on craig's list for only $1000. And I thought, I never look there for anything. I found a post for an overlock machine for $175. I made myself wait 30 mins to call about it-- the woman said she had just listed it about 2 mins before I saw it. So I am the new owner of a brother serger. :) To whomever posted about craigs list, thank you for the thought.

Glad you found the serger.
I found 2 vintage sewing machines in cabinets on Craigslist. One is a 1930 which I paid $40.00, and one is a 1938, which I paid $35.00. They both work great, have such a light easy touch to them and they look so beautiful.
I also have listed items on Craigslist and received mostly spam.

Sorry about you receiving spam. I have never used craigslist before but there was a phone number so I called and went to see it. She showed me how to use it, threaded it for me, gave me all the things that went with it, and then since she's a quilter, showed me her workspace, her quilts, and was so nice. She even gave me coupons for Joanns! It must have been karma.

I took a chance on Craigs List and bought a wonderful Bernina 1090 for $400. It is a great sewing machine and I know that I was very lucky that I checked that day and called about it right away. I still check everyday...you never know what might be out there!
