I too didn't know they sold FQ. Haven't been in there in a long time, so I'll check time.

I checked out 2 big lots and only one had the FQ.They are so small and only one tiny piece for $1.00.Really to me it isnt worth it,unless you can find more than 1 piece a like, and need just a small piece.

The fat quarters that I have purchased at Big Lots are the standard 18"x22" and just perfect for scrappy quilts, applique projects and tote bags. I love to mix and match with different colors and patterns...that's the fun of FQs :)

Went by Tuesday morning while in Ft. Worth and they have fq packs of 12 for 7.99. Pretty colors too. Went by Big Lots and no new charms packs, just fq/s. Hvae to keep checking.

I didn't know that either. Big 'wow' for me. I'll go give em a test. I've found some at fabric stores I won't buy, cause they feel thin and well... not so good... to me. So I guess it's more about the fabric and it's own merits than where you find the FQ.

I love to goto Mardens in Maine/NH where they have huge quilting fabric sections. They buy up the first run bolts (run while the company is still setting the machines up) and stuff like that. They also buy up LQS lots that are refused or discontinued. Big brand name LQS material, excellent stuff for $3.00 or less per yard. FQ's were like 68 cents last time I was there (2 years ago). I'm sure the price is higher now, but still a bargain.

    Thanks Deb, for the tip!

Wow, I didn't know BL had FQ's...yet another possible source. Thanks for putting them to the test for us all.
