Thanks for sharing your test info. Local Big Lots has FQ.
I purchased a QUILT PINK for Breast Cancer, published by Better Homes and Gardens, for $3.00 at Big Lots. Retail on the book was $35.00, I love the book it is hard cover with loose leaf pages. Gteat patterns and instruction.

I haven't been disappointed in Big Lots yet....oh, except when they quit selling the nut rolls!!!! I didn't know they sold FQs...I'll look next time. BTW - I bought a skillet for $15.00 -- thought I'd use it for camping. Tested it in the kitchen..........it hasn't and won't go out to the trailer. I like it better than any other skillet I've ever had!

I tested David's Textile fabric bought at Walmart. I machine quilted a piece of muslin and cotton batting to a 1/2 yard and throw it in the wash with every load. It's been washed with every load for about a year now. The muslin is not doing too good but the fabric is fine, faded of course but no shredding or holes. And this fabric is $2.76 a yard everyday at Walmart close to me. I cannot tell any difference from David's Textile sold at Walmart from the David's Textile fabric sold at several LQS shops except the price. Not many bolts of it come to Walmart but when it does it's sold out in a few days.

Thanks Bellaboo. I stopped in Decatuer on my way home from Oklahoma and their walmart had fabric. Yeah...... I did buy some and it was wonderful. I miss our walmart. I figure it's just like shopping at JOann's or an LQS, you just have to feel it and see if you like it. I heard from several LQS they go to market and buy fabrics just like Walmart etc and put it for sale in their shops. So, we can just be aware and look carefully.

"Cheap", I don't think so....just wise shoppers. LOL.

I would love it if our Big Lots got some in. The store near me seldom, if ever, sells anything to do with sewing or quilting.
