I'm yet another quilter who machine sews the binding down on the front, then hand sews it onto the back. I use a blind stitch to sew it with so it doesn't show at all. As my hands get more arthritic, my magical go-to gimmick is my daughter!!!! She is good at hand sewing, much better than I am!!! Thank you gerswin, my dd!!!!!

I always hand sew the back. I am in the middle of a table topper but the qb was calling so I stopped and pulled out the computer.

I wish I knew how to do it all by machine. I do French binding, machine sewn on the front, hand stitched on the back. I also wish I knew how to miter corners. No matter how many times I've seen it done it just doesn't sink in.

count me in on the ones that machine stitch to the front, and for sure..........hand stitch on the back.... I feel it is the ultimate way to finish even tho my hands don't always want to work right.

I sew mine all by machine. Carpal tunnel issues, plus I want mine done-not wait! Love the look of the hand-sewn tho~

I always sew mine on the front by machine and then hand sew the binding on the back. I'm just too persnickity to not do it that way. If the machine stitching on the back wasn't exact, it would drive me crazy! Luckily my hands still work well enough to hand sew but some day that won't be the case and I'll have to use the machine.
