I prefer hand sewing on the back, but understand why some prefer machine.
For my own ones I prefer to hand stitch but for kiddiwinks quilts especially the ones that I make for Project Linus I machine stitch them, using a blanket stitch that I have on my machine. As the North Wales coordinator for PL I ask for all the donated ones for the bindings to be machined, if not I do them before giving them to the local hospitals and hospice, WHY? Because they have extra laundering and heavier use than my ones
