    Default Binding advice please

I'm wanting to just fold over the backing and batting to create a rolled edge on s baby quilt
Top and backing are flannel. Batting is a cheapie fleece throw.
What width from the edge of the top should I trim the backing and batting?

I would just fold the backing without the batting or you corners may look terrible with trying to fold the excess fabric.

I do an inch but do not include the batting like maniacquilter2 said as you will never get your corners under control.

I just did a mini quilt this way and forgot to take pictures before I mailed it out. I cut the backing 1" larger than the front. Trim the batting to the edge of the top. You also have to trim the corners at an angle so there is at least 1/4" of backing fabric out from the point of the corners if you are going to miter the corners. If you flat fold them you don't have to trim.

You can find tutorials on line for this method too. Be sure to post pics when finished.

I used the 1" suggested for both backing and batting. At the corners I left about 1/4" on the diagonal cut. It's working great so far. Almost half done - one long side, 2 corners and part of short side - hand stitching the binding.
