Binding circles ?
Do any of you have suggestions for binding circles such as round potholders and similar size projects? My projects always cup and never lay flat. The front is either bowl shaped or like a dome. In garment sewing we would clip the curves, but I a not sure what to do on my round projects. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

If you use bias cut fabric or bias tape you should have better luck. I always clip the curves afterr attaching the first bias edge just to be safe . Be careful to NOT cut your stiching line. good luck!

when I am binding a circle I too use bias binding, fold binding in half press and attach ,when I get to the end about 3" from the end I stop and join to the beginning which I have left un stitched about 3" from the beginning. This will give you a more finished seam so you don't know where you have started or finished , by the way after you have joined the two ends together you finish stitching on to the circle you can sitd or hand finish. good luck.
