    Default Binding from Men's Khakis

Hi. Has anyone ever cut up men's slacks to make binding? Ive been over the internet and can't find any info. One thing I saw was that the crease line is on the straight grain. If this is true, I guess I could just cut strips from the crease line out. Any ideas? Many thanks.

You can make binding out of all kinds of fabric. I do mostly straight of grain binding unless binding curves. Cut yourself a little sample and try folding it into double fold binding. Does it fold well…is it too thick/thin? Are you going to sew it by machine, flip to the back and machine stitch with a decorative stitch? Will a hand needle go through to stitch the binding to the back by hand? You will need to do a little detective work before committing to it.
