Just finished the machine sewing of binding on a double size
quilt....don't know what I was thinking ...cut the binding
    2 1/2 inches....the sewed it on with a 1/4 inch seam...didn't
realize that the back binding was larger then the front until
I was finished......Would you rip this all out or leave it with the
4/8" on the front and 5/8" on the back

I would leave it. On a project that size, I would not even think about ripping out and redoing. But if it is going to bother you forever and ever, it might be worth it for you to do it. I don't particularly stress about things like that, though, because I figure who is really going to notice that 1/8" difference?

Well, that would be more noticeable, but I would probably still leave it. I hate sewing binding, more than almost anything except ripping stitches.

If it really bugs you , you could trim the seam allowance to even up the front and back. Me, for 1/8", I wouldn't bother, I'd just make the binding quite tight!

I'd leave it. Usually when I use 2-1/2" I trim the batting 1/8" beyond the quilt top and it seems to fit just right.

No one needs to know! :)

Leave it--it is ok to have more on one side than the other.
