Binding a quilt

Can someone tell me how to put on a binding on a queen quilt an easy way and how much to I cut off to leave so I have enough to have for the binding. I think I can do this but I am nervous as I made this T-Shirt Quilt and had it quilted and I do not want to mess it up. Oh my, It turned out so nice and now I have this beautiful quilt to bind and I am nervous about it. Help please :D Sharon

I cut my binding 2 ½", press it wrong sides together, I stitch it on 3/8" away from the raw edge of the top, then I cut away the backing & batting that way when I fold the binding to the back, it is "full" and not just a flimsy edge, does this make sense to you? If you do a search, there are alot of good full binding explanations with photos.
