Binding

I did the same thing, for some reason it scares me to try something new in case I fail, but, I braved it LOL and tried it and I enjoy it, with each quilt it gets a little better, I figure I am only human and what is the worse that can happen....I watch alot of You Tube also. I say just start to learn and go for it.

Local quilt shop? Someone must be able to get you started! You can view those videos and tutorials - which are super-great on this board - but seeing it in person and having someone answer your questions, right then and there, is the best. Wish I was closer... but OH is a stretch. Good luck!
And my prayers for your grandmother and your family. Alzheimer's is not easy to get through, but know you are not alone, esp. if you educate yourself.

Another excellent step by step tutorial is by Susan Schamber. She has great tips that really work-don't be afraid to use the school glue, I tried it on 6 or 7 scraps before I got up enough nervce to do it on an actual quilt & now I don't think I'd do a binding any other way.

Go to a local shop during a good sale! Introduce yourself to as many of the ladies there as you can and tell them your problem.
You will find help and perhaps new friends!
I moved half across the country a few times - and did this!
It works!

This is the type of binding I do. You may want to try it.
