BINDING
#11
I came across the same link Prism99 suggested. Binding was what I was blocked on when working my first quilt. It works like a charm.
Here is a link to Leah Day's website under articals and viedos she has some great tips...

Hi,
I do my binding the same as Maria, Sharon, and many others do, and I sew it by hand on the back of the quilt.
When our WalMart had a fabric department, I bought many packages of clips, actually they are the hair clips that snap together that are for little girls. They sold them in the sewing department for bindings, you got lots of them for a few dollars.....if you buy them in the hair stuff dept. they are pricey.
Anyway, after I sew my binding on to the quilt top I fold it over and use these clips to hold it onto the back side for hand sewing. It just makes it easier so you don't have to fold the binding over all the time, it's all ready in place. I have hundreds of them...check it out if you have a Walmart fabric dept. still.

Here's something I found on utube. Very good tutorial on binding by machine . I hope it comes through for you. you probably need to "copy & paste it into your browser. There's a part 1 and part 2.
