I am trying to make a table topper that will have as the center a birthday cake. I would like for it to be used for adult or a child. So not to childish or to fancy. I've looked at several but they are quite large. I haven't decided on the shape and will let the cake decided that. Thanks

I made a birthday cake table runner awhile ago (sigh, that's a UFO... I forgot about it) where it was just a rectangle with a smaller rectangle on top. I then was supposed to embellish with ribbon and schtuff to make it look all cake like. I think the table runner had a pedestol for the cake to sit on, where it was a long thin rectangle with a more square like one below it. I just remember it being very simple to make.

Fatcatpatterns.com has a cup cake appliquéd that you might want to add to you table topper. I think that I have a cake appliquéd, I will go double check for you.
