This is my "always wondered about it" question of the day. I've looked time and again at Hoffman's wonderful 1895-watercolor-batiks sample swatches color fan (a great toy, I must say!) and I've been wondering about black. They have a color called "Raven", and it is probably the most boring selection of all, because it's... just black... and not much variation in shade at all.

And so I'm asking, do you have any black "solid" batik in your stash?

I used to until I cut it up for a Fabric Fling I did in all black and whites.

I seldom buy batiks. But did buy some Kona black to piece
a machine embroidered lap quilt. Otherwise I seldom use black fabric. Its really hard to see when stitching.

Yep, I have some Black Batik. Love it, its black but enough variation as not to be boring. Love it!

No. Too be honest, I have never looked for it. I love the brightness of batiks, so black wouldnt be anything I would buy!

I use Black Batiks a lot, but then again I do a lot of stuff in batiks. It is a staple in my stash.

Sure don't! Batiks are too pretty to just buy black :) LOL actually I don't think I have ever seen black!
