Black Fabric
#41
The best black I have purchased so far is Michael Miller's Jet Black. It is darker and deeper than any other black I have tried. I have also worked with Kona black. The Kona has a much "meatier" hand to it that I don't like. It seems heavier than my quilting cottons and produced a lot of strings when I cut it into strips. I much prefer using Michael Miller's Jet Black, which seems to have a hand closer to that of my other quilting fabrics.

I have a terrible memory thus I have post it notes everywhere...right here in front of my computer monitor (where most of my purchases take place) is a neon pink post it saying Solids..Kona..Best! So If I need a solid that I can wait on it's Kona fabric!

I have used kona black a lot. I really like it. As some have said it does have a heavier hand than some fabrics but it does pair just fine with my other quilting fabrics. I have also used Bella black and liked it too. I have been told that the Michael Miller jet black is the blackest black you can buy but have never used it or seen it. No one around here carries it.

I agree that Kona black is best I am working on a double wedding ring black with marbled colors. I have bought Kona black at different times as I have used the black on other projects and there is no difference in the colors. JAF is where I shop and only buy what I have coupons for
