I can barely stand to go there on a regular day. Wouldn't even consider going on Black Friday. I did get a 60% off coupon in the mail that is good today (Dec. 1st). I need pinking shears so hope to use it for those.

Since I am in California visiting my son this week so I dared not to buy anything for myself that I couldn't take in a carry-on to go back home... but, I did buy 3 yds of home décor fabric at 50% off and some decorating trim (for tie backs)to make curtains for the guest room in his house that he has been remodeling. I will make them at home in Maine and then ship them back out but I wanted to make sure the colors were perfect. I only spent $21 ...

I didn't go on Friday, but I went on Saturday. I got a bunch of quilting fabric, some fleece and some minky. I picked up a cutting ticket when I walked in and by the time I was done shopping I only had to wait for 3 people to get cut b-4 it was my turn. It really wasn't that crazy. I also got some t-shirts and a couple stocking stuffers. I spent plenty and shouldn't need any fabric for a while! I got enough for at least 3 quilt tops!

I got the 10 drawer rolling cart to store my precut squares and strips I make from my scraps. Now it will be so much easier to access them for making scrappy quilts, my favorite kind!!!
I also got 3 of the 14" square scrapbooking units for storing 10x10 squares and for orphan blocks.
Of course a visit to the remnants was in order and I found about 6 at 75% off. And I got a 20 piece roll of strips for $6, and a batik FQ 5 piece bundle for $6. Both were on clearance.
My pre-coupon total was $70+ and my final was $52. So I am a happy camper.
The line to check out was long when I got there but when I went up to get in line there were only 4 people ahead of me!!!
I am sorting the squares by size and the strips by color. Well, for now anyway. LOL, I may change it a few times before I decide on a final solution. Smiles and hugs!
PS: I didn't go early, I had to go to the gym for my PT first like a good girl. But I was justly rewarded!

I got spray adhesive, a 9 inch spring form pan, a Christmas tree covered with little crystals, three cuts of fabric for FQ exchange and lots of conversation with those waiting in line to check out about quilting and the value of purchasing "gadgets". I passed on so many other items, but honestly, they will be 40 - 50% off at another time. I don't really need them now.

The good thing is I saved more than half of the total cost if I had paid the regular price for the items purchased. I am happy.

Visit Stitching Smiles on Facebook for their latest post. It is one of my favorite charities. They demonstrate power shopping at JoAnns on Black Friday!

I didn't go to Joann's. Two years ago I went into the store picking up things as I walked along. Then I went to the checkout and it went clear to the back of the store ! The sale wasn't that good for me to buy about $8.00 worth of stuff, I just left.

I went today after getting a 60% off any regular priced item on my cell phone -- left empty handed -- almost everything was on sale and there wasn't anything in particular to spend my coupon on -- bummer!
