the pigma pens to use are Micron Pigma pens- they are permenent- archival quality= acid free- do not bleed- do not run- do not fade- are made for textiles-
just any on the grocery store shelf pigma pen is not a pen for textiles..
they do not need to be heat set- it does not matter- if the fabric is pre-washed or not- they come in sets of colors= or black-they have 3 different tip sizes.
many many artists use them because you get a clear line on any textile- they do not get the fuzzy edges like other markers give you
