Bless the Teachers!
I really must take time to say how thankful I am for patient instructors in quilting and other pursuits.
I am learning to long arm and the lady I am renting time from is so patient. Today she taught me (for the third time) to load a quilt, stopping between steps so I could take pictures and write notes so I could do it myself next time.
She also showed me how to load the bobbin and re-thread part of the machine, even though she was busy in her shop. The best part is that she then leaves me alone to practice, checking in from time to time to be sure everything is running smoothly.
So, here's to the instructors out there! Thanks for your time and your patience.

That's great makes for a good learning environment. Although if she wasn't patient she probably wouldn't have return customers. Have you decided if you like it enough to invest in a midarm or long arm?

I too have been very fortunate to have had very patient and knowledgable teachers. I also like to share with others what I have learned. I've found quilters to be like that. We're a great bunch, don't you think? :-)

Oh when I saw the title of your thread I thought "Bless the teachers, Here's a Mom who is real glad summer is over and her kids are headed back to school! Now Mom can quilt again!" Silly me! I used to be one of those classroom teachers that was so sad when summer ended. Now I am retired and everyday is Saturday! hehehe!
