For some reason I think these are illegal as Disney would never allow it's designs to be sold like this.

Be very careful.. Those look like trademark designs. My guess is they are not in the USA . I was hassled for a long time for buying some. I was unaware they Were illegal.

When I make the Carpenters Wheel the block will be at least 60 inches. ONE BLOCK! That will be the center of the quilt and the rest will be borders of one sort or another.

Too few and it doesn't look good.
For instance: a 4-patch would look best as a 4" finished, could go to 6" finished - wouldn't look good any larger
I rarely make a block larger that 9" finished.
My Burgoyne Surrounded (which has more pieces than I care to remember) is a 17" block.
You'd keep a 4 patch at 6"? Why so small?

OOPS! you are talking only about 4 squares put together, aren't you?

In some block collections, a 4 patch is any block that has 4 squares across and 4 squares up and down-----------total 16 that themselves might be any number of pieces.

With just a little effort, you can convert lots of blocks to the size you want-----------providing the pieces aren't too complex.

I designed a baby quilt that is 43"x43" and is one large star block with a small strip border. It was really pretty when completed. I did it in bright primary colors and a coordinating print with animals. As long as you can sew the patches together you can make as big a block as you want.

Yup, 4 squares to the block.
Have done several 16s. I cut those pieces 2 1/2" and I sash the blocks - winding out with a 10 1/2" square (unfinished).

A block can be considered any size. I have seen some larger than 20 inches.
