Default Blocks like visit from old friends

Today I decided to pull out my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler blocks to finish up joining the rows. I pieced all the blocks 6-7 years ago and joined them in long vertical rows but never joined the rows together to piece the whole top. At the time I really enjoyed piecing the blocks and learned many new techniques (new to me) while doing them. (I just wished I had learned not to cut off points LOL) But what I enjoyed most today while joining half the rows together was looking at all my favorite blocks. Some I matched up fabrics beautifully and some I just like the pattern of the blocks. Warm fuzzies today re-acquainting myself with them. Just like old friends. Anyone else ever get this feeling?

I'm sewing many 6" blocks, a different one every day and like you, it's really fun to visit with my old favorites and try new ones!

Yes... I still have my Farmer's Wife 1930's quilt in a stack of blocks. I love to look through them and can't believe I actually made some of them!

I have a top with maple leaves that needs to be finished. Maybe I could get it and have it talk to me.

I only have a couple of old quilt blocks I made years ago. Long before anyone talked about using a 1/4" seam. Not been able to work them in yet.

Double yes!! I came across mine while looking for something else. I look at them and wonder "who made these?"
