Blocks with some big pieces
I just finished a quilt for my Granddaughter Sophia and her big sister was unhappy she was not getting a quilt. Of course she has gotten her quilt in the past, but 4 yr olds only think of today. I have some Dr. Seus fabric but need to a block that has some large pieces so the big Cat in the Hat doesn't get chopped up. So I am looking for suggestions as to a pattern or block with at least some big pictures. I like the SWoon but not sure if I can make that work.

E. Burns has a quilt patter out that call for 40 10" squares (layer cakes or cut your own). I don't know the name ot the pattern but it looks like a disappearing 9 patch pattern. It would be good for your large scale print, I believe.

I just bought three patterns with large pieces on Etsy because I have some special fabric that I also don't want cut up too small. The names of the patterns are: Sew Darn Charming, midnight Reflections and Northern Exposure. See if any of those will work--they are all quick and easy and the patterns make several different sizes.

My 4 year old great nephew fell in love with Star Wars fabric, and his mom didn't/doesn't have time to make him a quilt so I bought 2 yards of fabric, used one and 1/2 yards as a focus fabric, put a 1 inch border around it, then added another 3 inch border of the focus fabric and then the binding was the same color as the 1 inch border. I quilted around the Star Wars Pattern and used flannel on the back that was related to the front. I did a similar quilt with Disney Princesses for his twin sister. It went very fast and they were thrilled.
