Default Bluebirds in the leaves - cheneille

First effort at making wallhanging with cheneille, does anyone know the right way to construct chenielle, without losing the leaves? Any help would be appreciated, and thanks for taking the time to look.

Pretty. The texture of the chenille adds a lot to the wall hanging.

Years ago I made a Shadow Cheniille vest, but looking at the pattern the background was all chenilled and then the covered bridge and trees were machine appliquéd over that.... so doesn't really help with your question I guess.
If you scroll down a tad on this link she gives a few tips for a flower shape appliqué that might help. https://quiltsocial.com/creative-var...bric-chenille/

Very cute and love the 3D or dimensional look. Great work
