Although I have only been quilting for a couple of years, I have been sewing for years and years and this is the first time I have heard about the little hole in the bobbing being used for anything. Goes to show how well I have read the instruction manual when I got a new machine. LOL

Because I am self-taught, it never even occurred to me to use the hole - although I did wonder why it was there - duh... Anyway, I've always wrapped and never had a problem. Guess I'll read the manual that goes with my machine a little closer!

After over 54 yr.s of sewing I have always put the thread through the hole, hold tail and trim after it winds a few times and trim then continue on. Whatever works will work for you. I don't think I could get it to work the other way.
