    Default Bobbin hint

Someone mentioned in my Layered Bobbin thread that they had trouble keeping track of specialty threads on the bobbins so I thought I would repost this hint. A while back, someone posted about buying the plastic hose, cutting off little circles and cutting one side of the circle open for keeping bobbins tidy. I loved the idea and bought a section. I added another helpful idea to my bobbin keepers.
When I have a different weight or specialty thread I want to keep track of, I write the information on the bobbin keeper with a sharpie and put it on the bobbin. (I stuck the 40 Wt marker on an old cone so it would show up on camera.)

Genius!! I was just thinking last night that I needed to figure out a good way to label bobbins. Perfect timing!

I bet this idea would work well with embroidery threads, too. Will have to try it.

I've been using the little ponytail holders, but I like the plastic better because you can see what color the thread is, and writing on them is a bonus. Thanks for posting.

It will depend on your bobbins but my Bernina bobbins tube measures 2 inches around with the tape measure or about 3/4 inch across on my square. Bring your bobbin with you to the hardware store so you can fit the tubing to your bobbin.
