Bobbin washers
Has any one had trouble with these washers? Used one for the first time and was sewing on a border when the bobbin jammed, checked it out and the washer was all crumpled up. Any ideas as to why this happened?

Sometimes they can raise your bobbin up just a hair...enough for your thread to catch on and cause a jam. I have this issue with drop in bobbins.
Honestly I have never needed bobbin washers with plastic drop in bobbins. I do a lot of heirloom quilting on a simple inexpensive Brother from Walmart among other machines. They can be helpful for metal bobbins in metal cases that don't already have bobbin springs.

You have to take out the spring in the metal bobbin case. Most who sell these don't know the way they were meant to be used. They work great in the older all metal machines. I like how they stop most of my bobbin thread problems so I use them. I don't use them in my drop in bobbins because they are all plastic and not much static.

I did not have any problems with bobbin, just thought they were supposed to be good, so tried them but will not use them again. I have an all metal machine (Elna SU) with metal drop in bobbins. Guess I can sell them on Ebay lol

Have used them with free motion successfully - the brand used is Little Genie - the flatter side is placed up in my machine for eyelash issue on quilt back. They don't seem to work well with regular sewing for me.
