I've just been trying to get my new Featherweight up and running and had a horrible half hour because the bobbin thread appeared to be jamming. Peering closely at the bobbin and comparing it with another one revealed that it was a very slightly different size, and with the other one, the machine ran beautifully. Phew! However, I only have a few bobbins. I know that the Featherweight takes standard modern feet - are the bobbins still easily available as well, or do I have to go to a specialist supplier? And how do I know which is the correct one to buy - the one that wasn't the right one was only very slightly different.

My local Bernina/Janome sewing machine dealer keeps featherweight bobbins because so many quilters have one. I haven't had any problem buying bobbins for my machine and haven't encountered any that didn't fit. I know that there are on line sources but I haven't needed to try that yet.

    I bought mine here:
    http://sewingmachine221sale.bizland....ore/index.html
They have pretty much anything you will ever need there and had great service. I bought bobbins and new rubber feet and new lubricant for only 18 bucks including the shipping. ( I dug out my receipt)
I thought their prices were reasonable and I could get everything I needed at one stop instead of searching all over for stuff.
